Texas Star Hibiscus
Scientific name: Hibiscus coccineus

Description and characteristics: Attractive to bees, butterflies, and humming birds. Dies back in winter, but comes back in the spring.

Flower: Scarlet (Dark Red). Mid-Summer, Late Summer/Early Fall.
Size: 3’-6’

Requirements: Sun to Partial Shade. Likes a lot of water, but will tolerate some drought.

Notes: In late June of 2014 this plant began blooming.
